Live Competition Management

This page is the core function of this app, it is used to manage live competitions, and track and update results as they happen.

Welcome to the Live Action: The Live Event Manager Page

This is where the excitement unfolds! The Live Event Manager page allows you to track and update your competitions in real-time, keeping players and spectators informed every step of the way.

Understanding the Layout

The page is divided into several key areas:

  • Events & Competitions (Left Panel): Similar to the first page, this panel displays your events and their associated competitions. Selecting a competition will display its live information.
  • Players List (Center-Left Panel): This area shows all the players that currently are in any of the competition.
  • Fixture List (Center-Right Panel): This area shows the live scores and details of selected match.
  • Courts (Right Panel): This section displays the status of each court, live scores, and its queued fixtures if there are any.
  • Selecting the Competition:
    1. In the Events & Competitions panel on the left, locate the event that contains the live competition you want to manage.
    2. Click ‘Start’ to start the specific competition, all the ready fixtures of the competition will be shown in the fixture list.
    3. Click ‘Pause’ can pause specific competition and remove its ready fixtures in the fixture list.
  • Viewing Live Matches:
    1. Once you’ve selected the competition, the Match List panel will populate with the matches for that competition.
    2. Matches are typically ordered by scheduled start time or court assignment.
  • ** Matches Result:**
    1. Once all fixtures of a competition are done, the competition result is updated with winner and runner-up.

Managing Live Matches

  • Starting a Match:
    1. When a match is about to begin, click to start the match in the Match List.
    2. Drag and drop the match to the court on the Courts panel where it will be played.
  • Updating Scores:
    1. As the match progresses, update the scores in real-time using the provided interface.
    2. The application will automatically update the match status, set scores, and game scores as you input the results.
  • Ending a Match:
    1. Once the match is complete, click the “Finish” or “Complete” button.
    2. The application will record the final results and may automatically update the draw or standings based on the outcome.
  • Managing Courts
    1. Allocate matches to courts by dragging and dropping match to the Courts panel.

Automatic Court Assignment

  • Efficiently Assign Fixtures:
    1. Click the “Auto Assign” button (or a similarly named button) to access the automatic assignment options.
    2. Choose your preferred method:
      • Distribute across empty tables: Evenly distributes matches across all available courts.
      • Assign to a single empty table: Places the next match on the first available court.
      • Use all tables: Assigns matches to all courts, even if some are currently occupied (use with caution to avoid conflicts).
    3. Click “Confirm” to apply your chosen settings.
  • Resolving Conflicts: The system will alert you if there are any scheduling conflicts based on your chosen settings. You may need to manually adjust assignments in these cases.

Live Court View

  • Real-Time Court Status: The Courts panel provides a live view of all courts, showing which matches are currently being played and the current scores.
  • Quick Glance Information: You can quickly see which courts are occupied, which are free, and the progress of each live match.
  • Court Filtering: Use the filter options (e.g., “ALL”, “FREE”) to quickly view courts based on their availability.

Viewing Competition Progress and Rounds

  • Overall Competition View: Click on the “Progress” or “Rounds” tab (or a similarly named tab) to get an overview of the entire competition’s progress.
  • Round-by-Round Breakdown: The view will display the matches in each round, allowing you to easily track the results and see which players have advanced.
  • Bracket Visualization: The competition progress might be displayed in a bracket format, making it easy to visualize the flow of the tournament.

Following a Specific Player

  • Player-Centric View: Click on a player’s name from either the competition view, or the player list on the left panel to access a detailed view focused on that player.
  • Court, Schedule, and Results: You’ll be able to see which court the player is currently playing on (or will be playing on), their upcoming schedule, and their past results within the competition.
  • Match History: The player view provides a clear history of the player’s matches, including scores and opponents.

Key Features for Live Management

  • Real-Time Updates: Scores, match status, and court assignments are updated instantly, providing a dynamic view of the competition.
  • Automated Draw/Standings Updates: Depending on the format, the application may automatically update the draw or standings as results are entered.
  • Undo/Redo: If you make a mistake while entering scores, use the undo/redo function to correct it.
  • Pause/Resume: You can pause a match if needed and resume it later.

Important Notes

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection for seamless real-time updates.
  • Familiarize yourself with the score input interface before the competition begins to ensure smooth operation.
  • Regularly save your progress to avoid data loss.
